no worries ... I'll just stick with my nikonos for the time being ....

people like me leading dives though .... I always find the exotic stuff ... Laughing

(hmmmm .... CO in the air-tank, or pin holes in the primary ? ... Twisted Evil )

Fatum SG

the Bear SG

oh yah.. talkin' 'bout scuba diving...

my sister's outfit is the mob at Mako... i heard from other people that they are not cheap but they are good..

any truth in it?

i just go bowling and makan with them Laughing

they've been attempting to get me to be certified.. but i'm already certifiable Twisted Evil

1. I already have my macro lens and extension tubes.

2. For a long telephoto, since I don't use this range often I'll go buy a vintage manual 300mm f4 (THATS the beauty of the D200! It meters with old AIS lenses) and save a bundle.

3. No need for wide angle lens because that's not what I shoot

4. I have a ringflsh on the way

5. CF card have already

No need 10k lah Mr. Green

av98m SG

The good dive people are never cheap bear. Never try to scrimp in this area. Wink

Sheesh, I buy a new body and now 2 guys want to kill me. Surprised

the Bear SG

hmm...

i guess i would need.. maybe.. nearer, $7.5k

i like wide angles.. and for the speed of the camera, i'm getting a long lens.. coz it'll be great for football and stuff like that..

but i think i'll stick to my little F717 for the time being Wink

Fatum SG

mako's definitely not cheap ... though they do have a reputation ... I've only dived with them a couple of times ... but the peeps are quite professional, their safety briefs border on the anal, which is good ....

it may not be a bad idea to get your lessons from them ... there are too many fly-by-night schools these days ....

the Bear SG

i don't want to kill you.. i just want to steal your camera Twisted Evil

av98m SG

The fast AF of the camera is actually wasted on me. Since I use manual focusing almost all the time. Great thing is, now I can go buy old AIS lenses which are dirt cheap these days, not to mention built like tanks. The much bigger viewfinder is a gift from heaven after squinting through the D70s. And mirror lockup! Yay! Mr. Green

Man, seeing all you photography experts in here, makes me kinda pai seh to admit that yesterday evening, I stood at the kitchen window, patiently waiting for lightning to appear so that I can capture it with my digicam but siiiiiigh... stood there poised so long until arms and legs sore liao... and kept missing the lightning too! Evil or Very Mad

the Bear SG

knowing a whole lot of them, i think i can get it really cheap.. if i want to Laughing

but really, i can't be bothered to Razz
